Richard Amalvy appointed as new Chief executive of the Foundation

The Board of Trustees of the Brazzaville Foundation has appointed Mr. Richard Amalvy to the position of Chief executive. He took office on June 1, 2020. He succeeds Sir David Richmond who was appointed the Foundation's first CEO in 2015.

Richard Amalvy has held a number of positions in intergovernmental organisations, including as board member of the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe, Youth Policy Consultant to the World Bank, and Public and General Affairs Consultant to the OECD. Very active in the NGO sector for more than 25 years, he has been a leader of the European Youth Forum, the World Scout Bureau and the Conference of NGO members of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. He has co-designed and led programmes aimed at conflict resolution and civil society strengthening in Haiti, the Great Lakes region of Africa, the Middle East and the Balkans. We welcome him among the team.

We also warmly thank Sir David Richmond for his contribution to the building, development and recognition of the activities of the Brazzaville Foundation. He will remain active among the Friends of the Foundation.
