On 29 April 2021, in a letter addressed to Jean-Yves Ollivier, Founding Chairman, and Richard Amalvy, Chief Executive, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of WHO, acknowlegdes the work accomplished by the Brazzaville Foundation since its creation:
"I wish to congratulate the work of the Brazzaville Foundation for its 5th Year Anniversary and the release of the report which highlights the achievements attained by th Foundation."
He also underlined the fact that the Foundation’s actions in favour of peace, the environment and health “align very well with the Organizations strategic priorities as well as the Sustainable Development Goals and notably the AU’s Agenda 2063”.
WHO is a natural partner for the signatory states of the Lomé Initiative in the field of public health. In this context, the Brazzaville Foundation maintains a constant relationship with the WHO offices, both with the representations in the programme countries and with the headquarters in Geneva. In parallel with the World Health Assembly, the Foundation is organising a high-level roundtable on the issue of "COVID-19 and the Increasing Risks of Substandard and Falsified Pharmaceutical products in Africa: A public health and security issue". The conclusions of this meeting will be forwarded to Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
