The Gambia joins the Lomé Initiative

On 21 April, H.E. Adama Barrow, President of the Republic of the Gambia, held an audience in Banjul with Mr. Jean-Yves Ollivier, Founding Chairman of the Brazzaville Foundation.

During this meeting, President Barrow confirmed the desire to engage his country in the fight against falsified and substandard medicines within the framework of the Lomé Initiative, launched in January 2020 under the aegis of President Faure Gnassingbé, by Congo (Brazzaville), Ghana, Niger, Uganda, Senegal, and Togo. The Gambia will thus become the seventh country to sign the Lomé Initiative.
